Julie approves Steve’s notebook purchase requests, triggering an Oracle Workflow process that places a purchase order with a preferred supplier.

In this process, the workflow starts the appropriate programs that generate a purchase order with XML. Using Oracle Application Server Web Services, the XML purchase order is transformed into the format required by the supplier.

Julie’s team wrote these daemon programs in Java using the Oracle Application Server XML Developer’s Kit (XDK). These programs can interact with any queuing systems that support JMS.
