Actually it&#8217;s quite easy, if you know how.<\/p>\n<div class=\"adwcsengine\" data-id=\"NONE PROVIDED\" data-adgroupid=\"NONE PROVIDED\"><\/div>\n<p class=\"selectionShareable\">The main difference between VMware and VirtualBox is that VMware captures a whole virtual machine in an image, whereas VirtualBox only supports images of a hard disk. So in VirtualBox&#8217;s world, you first need to create a new virtual machine, before using an existing VirtualBox image.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<p class=\"selectionShareable\">First copy your VDI file into VirtualBox&#8217;s virtual hard disks repository. On Mac OS X it&#8217;s\u00a0<em>$HOME\/Library\/VirtualBox\/HardDisks\/<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"selectionShareable\">Start VirtualBox and create a new virtual machine (according to the OS you expect to live on the VirtualBox image):<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.app.compendium.com\/uploads\/user\/e7c690e8-6ff9-102a-ac6d-e4aebca50425\/f4a5b21d-66fa-4885-92bf-c4e81c06d916\/Image\/9fdb8650d59855db1af55cc390184fd8\/_virtualbox1.jpg\" alt=\"virtualbox1.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"465\" border=\"0\" \/><\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"selectionShareable\">When you&#8217;re asked for a hard disk image, select\u00a0<em>Use existing hard disk<\/em>\u00a0and click on the small icon on the right:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.app.compendium.com\/uploads\/user\/e7c690e8-6ff9-102a-ac6d-e4aebca50425\/f4a5b21d-66fa-4885-92bf-c4e81c06d916\/Image\/81f950554eb050f3dfffac6c885c93aa\/_virtualbox2.jpg\" alt=\"virtualbox2.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"465\" border=\"0\" \/><\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"selectionShareable\">Which will brings you to the Virtual Media Manager.
