2.4.5<\/strong>\u00a0on\u00a0<strong>Debian 8<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>RHEL<\/strong>\/<strong>CentOS 7<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tecmint.com\/install-and-configure-zabbix-monitoring-on-debian-centos-rhel\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Setting Up Zabbix Monitoring on Debian and CentOS based Systems<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>Step 1: Install Zabbix Agents in Linux Systems<\/h3>\n<p><strong>1.<\/strong>\u00a0Depending on the Linux distribution you are running, go to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.zabbix.com\/download.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Zabbix download<\/a>\u00a0page, grab the latest version of the available agents binary packages using a tool such as\u00a0<strong>wget<\/strong>\u00a0or\u00a0<strong>curl<\/strong>\u00a0and install it on your machine using the distribution specific package manager \u2013\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tecmint.com\/20-linux-yum-yellowdog-updater-modified-commands-for-package-mangement\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Yum<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tecmint.com\/20-practical-examples-of-rpm-commands-in-linux\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rpm<\/a>\u00a0or\u00a0<a Systems<\/h4>\n<p>For\u00a0<strong>CentOS<\/strong>\u00a0alike systems, download the\u00a0<strong>.rpm<\/strong>\u00a0packaged for the distribution specific release number, using the same page as above, and install it using rpm package manager.<\/p>\n<p>In order to automatically manage missing dependency issues and install the agent using one shot use the\u00a0<strong>yum<\/strong>command followed by the binary package download link, as in the example below used for installing the agent on CentOS 7:<\/p>\n<pre># rpm -Uvh step after installing the packages on the system is to open\u00a0<strong>Zabbix<\/strong>\u00a0agent configuration file located in\u00a0<strong>\/etc\/zabbix\/<\/strong>\u00a0system path on both major distributions and instruct the program to send all the collected information to Zabbix server in order to be analyzed and processed.<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, open\u00a0<strong>zabbix_agentd.conf<\/strong>\u00a0file with your favorite text editor, find the below lines (use the screenshots as a guide), uncomment them and make the following started and operates on the specific port \u2013\u00a0<strong>10050\/tcp<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<pre>$ sudo systemctl restart zabbix-agent\r\n$ sudo netstat -tulpn|grep zabbix\r\n<\/pre>\n<p>For older system is behind a firewall then you need to open\u00a0<strong>10050\/tcp<\/strong>\u00a0port on the system in order to reach through Zabbix server.<\/p>\n<p>For\u00a0<strong>Debian<\/strong>\u00a0based systems, including\u00a0<strong>Ubuntu<\/strong>, you can use\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tecmint.com\/how-to-install-and-configure-ufw-firewall\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ufw tool<\/a>\u00a0to open the port and on\u00a0<strong>CentOS 7<\/strong>\u00a0you can use\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tecmint.com\/firewalld-rules-for-centos-7\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Firewalld utility<\/a>\u00a0to manage the firewall rules as the below examples:<\/p>\n<pre>$ sudo ufw allow 10050\/tcp  [On <strong>Debian<\/strong> based systems]\r\n<\/pre>\n<pre>$ sudo firewall-cmd --add-port=10050\/tcp                [For <strong>centOS 7<\/strong> 6<\/strong>\u00a0or unmanaged firewalls through specific utilities use the powerful\u00a0<strong>iptables<\/strong>\u00a0command to open ports:<\/p>\n<pre># iptables -A INPUT -p tcp -m tcp --dport 10050 -j ACCEPT\r\n<\/pre>\n<p>5.
