Requirements:<\/h4>\n

  1. A Desktop machine with minimum 2GB of RAM.<\/li>\n
  2. The Java SE Development Kit (JDK) 8 is required to install NetBeans IDE (NetBeans 8.2<\/strong>\u00a0does not run on\u00a0JDK9<\/strong>).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Install Java JDK 8 in Debian, Ubuntu and Linux Mint<\/h3>\n

    1.<\/strong>\u00a0To install\u00a0Java 8 JDK<\/strong>\u00a0version, first add following\u00a0webupd8team\/java PPA<\/strong>\u00a0to your system and update the repository package database as shown.<\/p>\n

    $ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:webupd8team\/java\r\n$ sudo apt-get update\r\n<\/pre>\n
    2.<\/strong>\u00a0Once PPA has been added and updated, now search for the packages with name\u00a0oracle-java8<\/strong>\u00a0and install it as shown.<\/p>\n
    $ apt-cache search oracle-java8\r\n$ sudo apt-get install oracle-java8-installer\r\n<\/pre>\n
    If you have more than one Java installed on your system, you can install\u00a0oracle-java8-set-default<\/strong>\u00a0package to set\u00a0Java 8<\/strong>\u00a0as default as shown.<\/p>\n
    $ sudo apt-get install oracle-java8-set-default\r\n<\/pre>\n
    Please note that the same\u00a0webupd8team\/java PPA<\/strong>\u00a0also offers older and newer versions of Java packages like\u00a0Java 7<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Java 9<\/a>.<\/p>\n
    Install NetBeans IDE in Debian, Ubuntu and Linux Mint<\/h3>\n
    3.<\/strong>\u00a0Now oen a browser, navigate to\u00a0NetBeans IDE download<\/a>\u00a0page and download the latest\u00a0NetBeans IDE<\/strong>\u00a0installer script for your installed Linux distribution.<\/p>\n
    Alternatively, you can also download\u00a0NetBeans IDE<\/strong>\u00a0installer script in your system via\u00a0wget utility<\/a>, by issuing the below command.<\/p>\n
    $ wget -c http:\/\/download.netbeans.org\/netbeans\/8.2\/final\/bundles\/netbeans-8.2-linux.sh\r\n<\/pre>\n
    4.<\/strong>\u00a0After the download completes, navigate to the directory where the\u00a0NetBeans IDE<\/strong>\u00a0installer has been downloaded and issue the below command to make the installer script executable and start installing it.<\/p>\n
    $ chmod +x netbeans-8.2-linux.sh \r\n$ .\/netbeans-8.2-linux.sh\r\n<\/pre>\n
    5.<\/strong>\u00a0After running the installer script above, the installer \u201cWelcome page<\/strong>\u201d will show up as follows, click\u00a0Next<\/strong>\u00a0to continue (or customize your installation by clicking on\u00a0Customize<\/strong>) to follow the installation wizard.<\/p>\n
