Mondo Rescue<\/strong>\u00a0is an open source, free disaster recovery and backup utility that allows you to easily create complete system (Linux<\/strong>\u00a0or\u00a0Windows<\/strong>)\u00a0Clone<\/strong>\/Backup<\/strong>\u00a0ISO Images<\/strong>\u00a0to\u00a0CD<\/strong>,\u00a0DVD<\/strong>,\u00a0Tape<\/strong>,\u00a0USB devices<\/strong>,\u00a0Hard Disk<\/strong>, and\u00a0NFS<\/strong>. And can be used to quickly restore or redeploy working image into other systems, in the event of data loss, you will be able to restore as much as entire system data from backup media.<\/p>\n

Mondo<\/strong>\u00a0program is available freely for download and released under\u00a0GPL\u00a0<\/strong>(GNU Public License<\/strong>) and has been tested on a large number of\u00a0Linux<\/strong>\u00a0distributions.<\/p>\n

This article describes\u00a0Mondo<\/strong>\u00a0installation and usage of\u00a0Mondo Tools<\/strong>\u00a0to backup of your entire systems. The\u00a0Mondo Rescue<\/strong>\u00a0is a\u00a0Disaster Recovery<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Backup Solutions<\/strong>\u00a0for\u00a0System Administrators<\/strong>\u00a0to take full backup of their\u00a0Linux<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Windows<\/strong>\u00a0file system partitions into\u00a0CD\/DVD<\/strong>,\u00a0Tape<\/strong>,\u00a0NFS<\/strong>\u00a0and restore them with the help of\u00a0Mondo Restore<\/strong>\u00a0media feature that uses at\u00a0boot-time<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Installing MondoRescue on RHEL \/ CentOS \/ Scientific Linux<\/h3>\n

The latest\u00a0Mondo Rescue<\/strong>\u00a0packages (current version of\u00a0Mondo<\/strong>\u00a0is\u00a03.0.3-1<\/strong>) can be obtained from the \u201cMondoRescue Repository<\/strong>\u201c. Use \u201cwget<\/strong>\u201d command to download and add repository under your system. The Mondo repository will install suitable binary software packages such as\u00a0afio<\/strong>,\u00a0buffer<\/strong>,\u00a0mindi<\/strong>,\u00a0mindi-busybox<\/strong>,\u00a0mondo<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0mondo-doc<\/strong>\u00a0for your distribution, if they are available.<\/p>\n

For RHEL\/CentOS\/SL 6,5,4 \u2013 32-Bit<\/h4>\n

Download the\u00a0MondoRescue<\/strong>\u00a0repository under \u201c\/etc\/yum.repos.d\/<\/strong>\u201d as file name \u201cmondorescue.repo<\/strong>\u201c. Please download correct repository for your\u00a0Linux OS<\/strong>\u00a0distribution version.<\/p>\n

Installing MondoRescue on Debian \/ Ubuntu \/ Linux Mint<\/h3>\n
Debian<\/strong>\u00a0user\u2019s can do \u201cwget<\/strong>\u201d to grab the\u00a0MondoRescue repository<\/strong>\u00a0for\u00a0Debain 6<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a05<\/strong>\u00a0distributions. Run the following command to add \u201cmondorescue.sources.list<\/strong>\u201d to \u201c\/etc\/apt\/sources.list<\/strong>\u201d file to install Mondo packages.<\/p>\n
