All the\u00a0<strong>PPAs<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Packages<\/strong>\u00a0of your choice also needs to be re-added, to avoid doing those stuffs and save your time, here we bringing a fantastic tool called \u2018<strong>Aptik<\/strong>\u2018.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Aptik<\/strong>\u00a0(<strong>Automated Package Backup and Restore<\/strong>) is a\u00a0<strong>GUI<\/strong>\u00a0application that lets you backup your favourite\u00a0<strong>PPAs<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Packages<\/strong>. It is very difficult to remember to which packages are installed and from where it has been installed them. Whereas\u00a0<strong>yellow<\/strong>\u00a0icon indicates as active but no packages installed.<\/p>\n<p>Select your favourite PPAs and click on the \u2018<strong>Backup<\/strong>\u2018 button to create backup. If required those packages can be selected for backup.<\/p>\n<p>By default all extra packages installed by the user marked as selected, because those packages are installed via\u00a0<strong>Software Centre<\/strong>\u00a0or by running\u00a0<a title=\"apt-get install command\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tecmint.com\/useful-basic-commands-of-apt-get-and-apt-cache-for-package-management\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">apt-get install command<\/a>. If required those can be un-selected.<\/p>\n<p>Select your favourite packages to backup and click the \u2018<strong>Backup<\/strong>\u2018 button. A file named \u2018<strong>packages.list<\/strong>\u2018 will be created under the backup directory.<\/p>\n<h4>Backup Backup Themes and Icons<\/h4>\n<p>Click the \u2018<strong>Backup<\/strong>\u2018 button to list all the installed themes and icons from the \u2018<strong>\/usr\/share\/themes<\/strong>\u2018 and \u2018<strong>\/usr\/share\/icons<\/strong>\u2018 directories.
