ONLYOFFICE<\/strong>\u00a0is an office and productivity suite developed to provide an open source\u00a0alternative to Microsoft Office 365<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Google Apps<\/strong>. Three main components are connected to build a whole corporate platform:<\/p>\n

ONLYOFFICE Document Server<\/strong>\u00a0offers text, spreadsheet and presentation editors compatible with MS Office and OpenDocument file formats, among others.<\/p>\n

It works within a browser and allows you to create and co-edit documents choosing one of the co-editing modes:\u00a0Fast<\/strong>\u00a0(shows the changes made by co-editors in real-time) or\u00a0Strict<\/strong>\u00a0(hides other user changes until you save your own changes and accept the changes made by others). Commenting, tracking changes and built-in chat are also available.<\/p>\n

ONLYOFFICE Community Server<\/strong>\u00a0comes with mail client, document management tools, projects, CRM, calendar, and community with blogs, forums, and wiki.<\/p>\n

ONLYOFFICE Mail Server<\/strong>, developed on the base of the\u00a0iRedMail<\/a>, is used to create and manage mailboxes using your own domain name.<\/p>\n

ONLYOFFICE<\/strong>\u00a0has recently updated its two main components:\u00a0Document Server v. 4.0.0<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Community Server v.8.9.0<\/strong>\u00a0adding some features listed below:<\/p>\n

  1. fast real-time co-editing like in Google Docs<\/li>\n
  2. commenting<\/li>\n
  3. integrated chat<\/li>\n
  4. reviewing and tracking changes<\/li>\n
  5. version history<\/li>\n
  6. text art for text, spreadsheets and presentations<\/li>\n
  7. adding, removing and modifying the available styles.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    ONLYOFFICE Community Server v.8.9.0<\/h4>\n

    1. review access rights for documents<\/li>\n
    2. mail and calendar integration allowing to:\n
        \n
      1. invite any Internet user to your event and notify them about the changes<\/li>\n
      2. get invitations from other calendars and accept or reject them.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
      3. address book for personal contacts<\/li>\n
      4. mail auto-reply<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        Installing ONLYOFFICE in Linux<\/h3>\n

        You can deploy the latest stable version of\u00a0ONLYOFFICE<\/strong>\u00a0using the official Docker script. It allows you to install the whole system on a single machine avoiding the dependency errors.<\/p>\n

        In general, each\u00a0ONLYOFFICE<\/strong>\u00a0component requires some dependencies to be installed on your Linux machine. With\u00a0Docker<\/strong>, only one dependency is needed \u2013\u00a0Docker v.1.10<\/strong>\u00a0or later.<\/p>\n

        There are also\u00a0DEB<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0RPM<\/strong>\u00a0packages available for\u00a0ONLYOFFICE<\/strong>\u00a0at:\u00a0http:\/\/www.onlyoffice.com\/download.aspx<\/a><\/p>\n

        Before you go ahead, please check if your machine meets the\u00a0ONLYOFFICE<\/strong>\u00a0hardware and software requirements:<\/p>\n

        ONLYOFFICE Hardware Requirements<\/h4>\n
          \n
        1. CPU<\/strong>: dual-core 2 GHz or better<\/li>\n
        2. RAM<\/strong>: 6 GB or more<\/li>\n
        3. HDD<\/strong>\u00a0at least 40 GB of free space<\/li>\n
        4. Swap<\/strong>\u00a0at least 8 GB<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          Important<\/strong>: Please note that the size requirement for a server to run\u00a0ONLYOFFICE<\/strong>\u00a0depends on the components you need and how much documents and mails you plan to store.<\/p>\n

          6 GB<\/strong>\u00a0of\u00a0RAM<\/strong>\u00a0is necessary for the efficient work of the whole system:\u00a0Document Server<\/strong>,\u00a0Mail Server<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Community Server<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

          To install it without mail server,\u00a02 GB<\/strong>\u00a0of\u00a0RAM<\/strong>\u00a0will be enough, given the necessary amount of swap is available.<\/p>\n

          ONLYOFFICE Software Requirements<\/h4>\n
            \n
          1. OS<\/strong>: amd64 Linux distributive with kernel version\u00a03.10<\/strong>\u00a0or later<\/li>\n
          2. Docker<\/strong>: version\u00a01.10<\/strong>\u00a0or later (to install it, refer to the\u00a0official Docker documentation<\/a>)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

            Let\u2019s proceed further to install\u00a0ONLYOFFICE<\/strong>\u00a0in Linux distributions.<\/p>\n

            Step 1.<\/strong>\u00a0Download ONLYOFFICE Docker script file.<\/p>\n

            Step 2<\/strong>. Run the complete ONLYOFFICE installation.<\/p>\n
            Important<\/strong>: Please note that to perform this action you must be logged in with\u00a0root<\/strong>\u00a0rights.<\/p>\n

            Where\u00a0yourdomain.com<\/strong>\u00a0is your own domain used for\u00a0Mail Server<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

            Getting started with ONLYOFFICE<\/h3>\n
            Step 3.<\/strong>\u00a0Enter the IP address of your server to your browser to open\u00a0ONLYOFFICE<\/strong>. The portal start up and initialization processes will start. Once completed, the Wizard page will open:<\/p>\n
