Easy to use.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4>Dependencies<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>lm-sensor and hddtemp:<\/strong>\u00a0: Psensor depends upon these two packages to get the reports about temperature and fan speed.<\/li>\n<li><strong>psensor-server<\/strong>\u00a0: It is an optional package, which is required if you want to gather information about Remote Server Temperature and Fan Speed.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>Installation of Psensor in Linux<\/h3>\n<p><strong>1.<\/strong>\u00a0As I said above that\u00a0<strong>Psensor<\/strong>\u00a0program depends on\u00a0<strong>lm-sensor<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>hddtemp<\/strong>\u00a0package and these two packages must installed on the system in order to install Psensor.<\/p>\n<p>Both these two packages are available in the official repository of most of the standard Linux distributions, but in RedHat\/CentOS based systems, you need to install and enable\u00a0<strong>epel-release<\/strong>\u00a0repository to get these packages.<\/p>\n<h4>On Debian, Ubuntu and Mint<\/h4>\n<pre># apt-get install lm-sensors hddtemp\r\n<\/pre>\n<h4>On RedHat, CentOS and Fedora<\/h4>\n<pre># yum install epel-release \r\n# yum install lm_sensors lm_sensors-devel hddtemp\r\n<\/pre>\n<p><strong>Note<\/strong>: If you are using\u00a0<strong>Fedora 22<\/strong>, replace\u00a0<strong>yum<\/strong>\u00a0with\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tecmint.com\/dnf-commands-for-fedora-rpm-package-management\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">dnf<\/a>\u00a0in above command.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2.<\/strong>\u00a0Once these two dependencies installed on the system, you can install\u00a0<strong>Psensor<\/strong>\u00a0on Debian alike systems using following commands.<\/p>\n<pre># apt-get install psensor\r\n<\/pre>\n<p>Unfortunately, on\u00a0<strong>RedHat<\/strong>\u00a0alike systems,\u00a0<strong>Psensor<\/strong>\u00a0isn\u2019t available from the default system repository, and you need to compile it from source as shown below.<\/p>\n<pre># yum install gcc gtk3-devel GConf2-devel cppcheck libatasmart-devel libcurl-devel json-c-devel libmicrohttpd-devel help2man libnotify-devel libgtop2-devel make \r\n<\/pre>\n<p>Next, download the most recent stable\u00a0<strong>Psensor<\/strong>\u00a0(i.e version\u00a0<strong>1.1.3<\/strong>) source tarball and compile it using following commands.<\/p>\n<pre># wget http:\/\/wpitchoune.net\/psensor\/files\/psensor-1.1.3.tar.gz \r\n# tar zxvf psensor-1.1.3.tar.gz \r\n# cd psensor-1.1.3\/ \r\n# .\/configure \r\n# make \r\n# make install\r\n<\/pre>\n<p><strong>3.<\/strong>\u00a0Install\u00a0<strong>Psensor Server<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 optional.
