(CTI) has released two new developer options for Nvidia\u2019s octa-core <a href=\"http:\/\/linuxgizmos.com\/robotics-dev-kit-runs-new-isaac-sdk-on-octa-core-xavier-module\/\" target=\"new\">Jetson AGX Xavier<\/a> computer-on-module, which is already supported by Nvidia\u2019s innovative, $1,299 <a href=\"http:\/\/linuxgizmos.com\/tiny-carrier-unleashes-nvidia-xavier-power-for-robotics-and-ai\/\" target=\"new\">Jetson Xavier Developer Kit. <\/a> Like the official dev kit, CTI\u2019s 105 x 92mm Rogue board is approximately the same size as the 105 x 87 x 16mm Xavier, making it easier to use for robotics applications.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/files\/cti_rogue_xavier.jpg\" target=\"new\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/linuxgizmos.com\/files\/cti_rogue_xavier-sm.jpg\" \/><\/a> <a href=\"\/files\/cti_rogue_xavier2.jpg\" target=\"new\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/linuxgizmos.com\/files\/cti_rogue_xavier2-sm.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><b>Rogue carrier with Xavier module (equipped with fan)<\/b><br \/>\n(click images to enlarge)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>CTI also launched a Jetson AGX Xavier Mimic Adapter board that mediates between the Xavier and any CTI carrier for the Jetson TX1, TX2, and the latest industrial-focused version of the TX2 called the<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/linuxgizmos.com\/rugged-new-jetson-tx2i-module-gains-carrier-support\/\" target=\"new\">Jetson TX2i<\/a><\/p>\n<p>. These include the<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/linuxgizmos.com\/jetson-tx2-module-gains-third-party-carrier-boards\/\" target=\"new\">three TX2 boards<\/a><\/p>\n<p>announced in early 2017: the Cogswell carrier with GigE Vision, the Spacely carrier designed for cam-intensive Pixhawk drones, and the tiny, $99 Sprocket. CTI\u2019s Jetson TX1 boards include the original<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/linuxgizmos.com\/rugged-carrier-and-mini-pc-build-on-jetson-tx1-com\/\" target=\"new\">Astro<\/a><\/p>\n<p>, as well as its later<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/linuxgizmos.com\/rugged-jetson-tx1-carrier-boards-start-at-175-dollars\/\" target=\"new\">Orbitty and Elroy<\/a><\/p>\n<p>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/files\/cti_mimic_xavier_elroy.jpg\" target=\"new\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/linuxgizmos.com\/files\/cti_mimic_xavier_elroy-sm.jpg\" \/><\/a> <a href=\"\/files\/cti_mimic_xavier_elroy_exploded.jpg\" target=\"new\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/linuxgizmos.com\/files\/cti_mimic_xavier_elroy_exploded-sm.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><b>Jetson AGX Xavier Mimic Adapter with Xavier and Elroy carrier (left) and exploded view<\/b><br \/>\n(click images to enlarge)<\/p>\n<p>The Jetson Xavier \u201cenables a giant leap forward in capabilities for autonomous machines and edge devices,\u201d says CTI. Nvidia claims the Xavier has greater than 10x the energy efficiency and more than 20x the performance of its predecessor, the Jetson TX2. The module \u2014 and the new CTI carriers \u2014 are available with a BSP with Nvidia\u2019s Linux4Tegra stack. Nvidia also offers an AI-focused Isaac SDK.<\/p>\n<p>The Xavier features 8x ARMv8.2 cores and a high-end, 512-core Nvidia Volta GPU with 64 tensor cores with 2x Nvidia Deep Learning Accelerator (DLA) \u2014 also called NVDLA \u2014 engines. The module is also equipped with a 7-way VLIW vision chip, as well as 16GB 256-bit LPDDR4 RAM and 32GB eMMC 5.1.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/files\/nvidia_driveagxxavier.jpg\" target=\"new\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/linuxgizmos.com\/files\/nvidia_driveagxxavier-sm.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><b>Nvidia Drive AGX Xavier Developer Kit<\/b><br \/>\n(click image to enlarge)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Since the initial Xavier announcements, Nvidia has added AGX to the Jetson Xavier name. This is also applied to the automotive version, which was originally called the<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/linuxgizmos.com\/nvidias-latest-drive-px-car-computer-offers-level-5-autonomy\/\" target=\"new\">Drive PX Pegasus<\/a><\/p>\n<p>when it was announced in Nov. 2017. This Linux-driven development kit recently began shipping as part of the<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.nvidia.com\/blog\/2018\/09\/12\/nvidia-drive-agx-developer-kit-autonomous-driving\/\" target=\"new\">Nvidia Drive AGX Xavier Developer Kit<\/a><\/p>\n<p>, which supports a single Xavier module or else a Drive AGX Pegasus version with dual Xaviers and dual GPUs.<\/p>\n<p><b>Rogue<\/b><\/p>\n<p>CTI\u2019s Rogue carrier board provides 2x GbE, 2x HDMI 1.4a, 3x USB 3.1, and a micro-USB OTG port. Other features include MIPI-CSI, deployable either as 6x x2 lanes or 4x x4 lanes, and expressed via a high-density camera connector breakout that mimics that of the official dev kit. CTI will offer a variety of rugged camera add-on expansion boards with options described as \u201cup to 6x MIPI I-PEX, SerDes Inputs: GMSL or FPD-Link III, HDMI Inputs).\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/files\/cti_rogue_front.jpg\" target=\"new\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/linuxgizmos.com\/files\/cti_rogue_front-sm.jpg\" \/><\/a> <a href=\"\/files\/cti_rogue_back.jpg\" target=\"new\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/linuxgizmos.com\/files\/cti_rogue_back-sm.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><b>Rogue, front and back<\/b><br \/>\n(click images to enlarge)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>For storage, you get a microSD slot with UFS support, as well as 2x M.2 M-key slots that support NVMe modules. There\u2019s also an M.2 E-key slot with PCIe and USB support that can load optional WiFi\/BT modules.<\/p>\n<p>Other features include 2x CAN 2.0b ports, 2x UARTs, 4-bit level-shifted, 3.3V GPIO, and single I2C and SPI headers. There\u2019s a 9-19V DC input that uses a positive locking Molex <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mouser.com\/new\/molex\/molex-minifit-jr-connectors\/\" target=\"new\">Mini-Fit Jr<\/a> header. You also get an RTC with battery connector and power, reset, and recovery buttons and headers.<\/p>\n<p><b>Mimic Adapter<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The Jetson AGX Xavier Mimic Adapter has the same 105 x 92mm dimensions as the Rogue, but is a simpler adapter board that connects the Xavier to existing CTI Jetson carriers.
