You can configure backups, make backups, monitor backups etc from the web based management panel. In this article, I will show you how to install Bacula Enterprise on your computer\/server. So, let\u2019s get started.<\/p>\n<p>Downloading Bacula Enterprise:<\/p>\n<p>Bacula Enterprise ISO image can be downloaded from the official website of Bacula Systems. To download Bacula Enterprise ISO image, visit the official website of Bacula Systems at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.baculasystems.com\/try\">https:\/\/www.baculasystems.com\/try<\/a> and click on Download Bacula Enterprise Backup Trial Now.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/linuxhint.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/1-14.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1140\" height=\"606\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Now, fill in the details and click on Download Trial.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/linuxhint.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/2-14.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1140\" height=\"606\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Now, Bacula Systems will mail you a link from where you can download Bacula Enterprise ISO installer image. Open your email and click on the download link. Once you have the Bacula Enterprise bootable USB installer, you can use it to install Bacula Enterprise on your computer\/server.<\/p>\n<p>You can download Rufus from the official website of Rufus at <a href=\"https:\/\/rufus.ie\">https:\/\/rufus.ie<\/a><\/p>\n<p>If you want to install Bacula Enterprise as a VMware\/VirtualBox virtual machine, then you can use the ISO image directly. You don\u2019t have to make a bootable USB thumb drive of Bacula Enterprise.<\/p>\n<h3>Installing Bacula Enterprise:<\/h3>\n<p>Once you boot Bacula Enterprise from the ISO installer image or the bootable USB thumb drive, you should see the following GRUB menu. Select Install on Virtual Machine if you\u2019ve booted Bacula Enterprise installer in a virtual machine. Otherwise, select Install on Physical Hardware. Then, press &lt;Enter&gt;.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/linuxhint.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/6-14.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Bacula Enterprise is loading.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/linuxhint.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/7-15.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1105\" height=\"135\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Now, select OK and press &lt;Enter&gt;.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/linuxhint.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/8-13.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Press &lt;Enter&gt; to continue.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/linuxhint.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/9-12.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Now, you have to set your keyboard layout. Some keyboard layout keymap codes are given as examples. For example, keymap code us for United States keyboard layout, uk for United Kingdom etc.<\/p>\n<p><u>NOTE:<\/u> For more keymap code, visit <a href=\"https:\/\/access.redhat.com\/documentation\/en-us\/red_hat_enterprise_linux\/6\/html\/installation_guide\/s1-kickstart2-options\">https:\/\/access.redhat.com\/documentation\/en-us\/red_hat_enterprise_linux\/6\/html\/installation_guide\/s1-kickstart2-options<\/a> and scroll down to the keyboard section.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/linuxhint.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/10-9.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Now, type in the timezone keyword and press &lt;Enter&gt;. For example, if you\u2019re on US Eastern timezone, then the timezone keyword would be US\/Eastern.<\/p>\n<p>You can find a list of supported timezone keywords at <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/List_of_tz_database_time_zones\">https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/List_of_tz_database_time_zones<\/a><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/linuxhint.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/11-9.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Now, all the available storage devices should be listed. I have only one storage device sda of size 300GB. Just type in the name of the storage device where you want to install Bacula Enterprise and press &lt;Enter&gt;.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/linuxhint.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/12-7.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"146\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Now, type in the amount of disk space you want to allocate for the root (\/) directory in GB and press &lt;Enter&gt;. You should allocate at least 16 GB of disk space here.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/linuxhint.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/13-7.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"139\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Now, type in your swap size in GB and press &lt;Enter&gt;. It should be twice the amount of RAM\/memory you have.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/linuxhint.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/14-7.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"156\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Now, type in the amount of diskspace you want to allocate for the \/var directory and press &lt;Enter&gt;. Allocate at least 4GB of diskspace for the \/var directory.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/linuxhint.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/15-6.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"172\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Now, type in the amount of diskspace you want to allocate for the \/opt directory and press &lt;Enter&gt;. Allocate at least 4GB of diskspace for the \/opt directory.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/linuxhint.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/16-4.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"182\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Now, type in the amount of diskspace you want to allocate for the \/tmp directory and press &lt;Enter&gt;. Allocate at least 4GB of diskspace for the \/tmp directory.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/linuxhint.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/17-5.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"201\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Now, type in the amount of diskspace you want to allocate for the \/catalog directory and press &lt;Enter&gt;. Allocate at least 8GB of diskspace for the \/catalog directory.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/linuxhint.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/18-5.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"264\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Now, type in the amount of diskspace you want to allocate for the \/opt\/bacula\/working directory and press &lt;Enter&gt;. Allocate at least 8GB of diskspace for the \/opt\/bacula\/working directory.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/linuxhint.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/19-5.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"281\" \/><\/p>\n<p>As you can see, about 184 GB of disk space will be allocated for the OS and 116 GB of disk space is still left for data. Press &lt;Enter&gt; to confirm.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/linuxhint.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/20-5.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Bacula Enterprise installation should start.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/linuxhint.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/21-5.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<p>All the required packages are being installed.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/linuxhint.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/22-4.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Bacula Enterprise is being installed.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/linuxhint.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/23-3.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Now, type in a password for the root user and press &lt;Enter&gt;.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/linuxhint.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/24-4.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"112\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Now, type in a password for the bacula user and press &lt;Enter&gt;.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/linuxhint.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/25-3.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"160\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Now, type in the hostname for your Bacula Enterprise server and press &lt;Enter&gt;.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/linuxhint.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/26-3.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"187\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Now, you have to configure a network interface. To do that, press y and then press &lt;Enter&gt;.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/linuxhint.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/27-3.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"167\" \/><\/p>\n<p>If you want to use DHCP to configure the network interface, then press y and then press &lt;Enter&gt;. If you want to configure the network interface manually, then press n and then press &lt;Enter&gt;.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/linuxhint.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/28-3.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"187\" \/><\/p>\n<p>If this network interface is the default route, then press y and then press &lt;Enter&gt; to continue.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/linuxhint.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/29-3.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"202\" \/><\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019ve decided to manually configure the network, then you have to type in an IP address for the network at this point and press &lt;Enter&gt;.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/linuxhint.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/30-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"234\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Then, type in the netmask and press &lt;Enter&gt;.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/linuxhint.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/31-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"251\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Now, type in the default gateway and press &lt;Enter&gt;.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/linuxhint.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/32.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"268\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Now, press y and then press &lt;Enter&gt; to confirm the details that you\u2019ve provided.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/linuxhint.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/33.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Now, type in a domain name for your Bacula Enterprise server and press &lt;Enter&gt;.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/linuxhint.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/34.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"82\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Now, type in the IP address of your primary DNS server and press &lt;Enter&gt;.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/linuxhint.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/35-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"89\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Now, type in the IP address of your secondary DNS server and press &lt;Enter&gt;.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/linuxhint.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/36-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"109\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Now, press y and then press &lt;Enter&gt; to confirm.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/linuxhint.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/37.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"238\" \/><\/p>\n<p>If you want to configure NTP, press y. Otherwise, press n. Then, press &lt;Enter&gt;. NTP is optional. Otherwise press y. Then press &lt;Enter&gt;.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/linuxhint.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/41.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<p>If you want to enable DeDuplication, then press y and then press &lt;Enter&gt;.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/linuxhint.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/42.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Now, type in the amount of disk space you want to allocate for dedupe storage and press &lt;Enter&gt;.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/linuxhint.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/43.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Now, type in the number of deduplication devices you want and press &lt;Enter&gt;. The default is 4.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/linuxhint.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/44.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"145\" \/><\/p>\n<p>If you don\u2019t want to set any default storage, then press n. Otherwise, press y. Then press &lt;Enter&gt;.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/linuxhint.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/45.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"223\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Normally, you don\u2019t want any demo configuration in a production server. So, press n and then press &lt;Enter&gt;.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/linuxhint.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/46.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"223\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Now, type in the number of days Bacula Enterprise will keep backups (retention period) for restore. The default is 90 days. At most, you can keep backups for 365 days.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/linuxhint.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/47.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"238\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Now, Bacula Enterprise will install additional software packages depending on how you configured it.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/linuxhint.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/48.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Once Bacula Enterprise is installed, you should be booted into the following GRUB menu. Just press &lt;Enter&gt;.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/linuxhint.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/49.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>You should be booted into Bacula Enterprise and you should be able to log into the system. Your management IP address is available here. You can access it from any web browser (Bacula prefers Firefox) to manage your Bacula Enterprise server.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/linuxhint.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/50.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"142\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Now visit the management IP address (in my case <a href=\"https:\/\/192.168.21.5\">https:\/\/192.168.21.5<\/a>) from any web browser and you should see the BWeb dashboard.
