It creates the illusion of a desktop environment without windows.<\/p>\n<p>It is heavily inspired from\u00a0<strong>DEX-UI<\/strong>\u00a0and the\u00a0<strong>TRON Legacy<\/strong>\u00a0movie effects. It uses a number of open-source libraries, frameworks and tools. It was designed and intended to be used on devices with large touchscreens, but it works well on a regular desktop computer or perhaps a tablet PC or laptops with touchscreens.<\/p>\n<p><strong>eDEX-UI<\/strong>\u00a0runs the shell of your choice in a real terminal, and displays live system information about the CPU, memory, temperature, top processes, and network. By default,\u00a0<strong>eDEX<\/strong>\u00a0runs bash on Linux, but this is configurable. It also has a file manager, and an onscreen keyboard. Secondly, if you observe carefully from the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tecmint.com\/find-linux-processes-memory-ram-cpu-usage\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">list of top processes<\/a>, eDEX-UI consumes a lot of CPU and RAM.
