8 General Component Information

8.1 About General Component Information

You can find information about the installed Site Studio component, Site Studio-specific metadata, directory paths, versions, and other information on the General Component Information page. This information may be useful for noting the version numbers and relative paths for Web sites and fragments.

8.2 Viewing General Component Information

To view the general component information for Site Studio, perform these steps:

  1. Log in to the content server as an administrator.

  2. In the Administration section, select Site Studio Administration.

    The Site Studio Administration page is displayed (see "Site Studio Administration"). If you run Oracle Content Server in the Top Menus layout, you do not see this page. Instead, all administration options are then items in the Site Studio Administration menu.

  3. Click General Component Information.

    The General Component Information page is displayed (see "General Component Information Page").

8.3 Resetting the Install Number

The Install Number is the number of the current Site Studio component. It is used to track what software updates will install when you update your Site Studio component. New components will only install the necessary changes compared to the current install number.

In most cases, the install number will not be important. But in those few cases where you may wish to eliminate all changes, and create a fresh installation, resetting the install number might be necessary.

To reset the install number, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to the content server as an administrator.

  2. In the Administration section, select Site Studio Administration.

    The Site Studio Administration page is displayed (see "Site Studio Administration"). If you run Oracle Content Server in the Top Menus layout, you do not see this page. Instead, all administration options are then items in the Site Studio Administration menu.

  3. Click General Component Information.

    The General Component Information page is displayed (see "General Component Information Page").

  4. Click (Reset).

    The install number is set to 0.
